Found Object Instruments

-Found Object Instruments - the above video features a banjo cane, bass cane, violin cane , and  two  found objects cane.

Welcome to American Percussion's found objects page. On this page SOME of the percussion instruments are for sale but mostly it's to share the possibility of making percussion instruments from objects that surround you in everyday life.
#1). The tiki shaker is made from a tiki lamp for outdoor use. I really like the look of the woven shell and put a thin oversized calf head  that you can do a finger roll on. There are several ways to play this shaker. You would have to experiment on your own .

#2). is a found objects musical walking canes.  I started to play in a band called " The Cane Gang" so I decided to make a few canes. First is the Found Objects cane made up of a aluminium star, a small circular metal disc, and a large metal disc. Next is  the Kitchen Cane which is mostly made up of metal measuring cups and last is a Bell Cane  which is made up of different size bells. All of the canes come apart like a pool stick where the lower half is a guiro etched onto it.
