The Kendu Drums

 This World Percussion instrument - is new creation from American Percussion that combines two different hand drum concepts. The first is a clay body that has a sound portal for a change in pitch or a glissando effect similar to the lapdrum or the udu drum. The second is that of a frame drum and or tambourine. Finally the two different drums are joined together where you can combine the different sounds and playing techniques. There a sound portal that when covered allows the drum to change pitch or add a glissando effect. The extended pieces of drum head can be used with your fingers.
